The Met Office on Tuesday predicted isolated rain-thunderstorm and snowfall for the most parts of upcountry mountainous region in the next 24 hours. The isolated rainy spell is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Quetta, Zhob, Sargodha and Rawalpindi Divisions, besides Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Fog is likely to engulf plains of Punjab during morning hours.
Kalam received 13 mm of rainfall, Dir 15 mm, Chitral 8 mm, Rawalakot 7 mm, Murree 6 mm, Parachinar 5 mm, Mirkhani and Drosh 4 mm, each, Pattan 3 mm, Malamjabba 3 mm, Balakot and Muzaffarabad 2 mm, each. Kalam received 9 inches of snowfall and Malamjabba 1 over the past 24 hours. Minimum temperature in Kalat and Parachinar was minus 4 degrees Celsius, each, Gupis minus 3, Hunza and Ziarat minus 2, each, Kalam and Quetta minus 1, each. "A westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and its adjoining areas," the Met Office said.
