PPP never insulted courts: Gilani

02 Feb, 2018

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has never insulted courts of law, said former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani. He called on former chief minister Punjab Manzoor Wattoo at his residence on Thursday. He said democratic parties respect the constitutional institutions and strive for their protection but the Sharif family has exploited them by using foul language against them.
He said that the PPP has always struggled for democracy but never committed contempt of court. He said the behaviour of Sharif family was quite shameful after the Panama verdict.
He questioned that why the Sharif family was disturbed over their accountability when they have been demanding the same for others. He said the PPP is in favour of timely election. Both the leaders discussed political issues and Senate elections.
