Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said the Punjab government has taken effective measures for early diagnosis, preventive measures and provision of free medicines to the cancer patients. In his message on World Cancer Day, Shahbaz said that cancer is a lethal disease and raising awareness about the disease is critical, as early detection of disease can help proper treatment of the patient.
Shahbaz said the objective of marking this day is to raise awareness among the public about this disease. He said the Punjab government is making efforts to ensure that needy cancer patient does not die of this lethal disease due to lack of resources.
He said that provision of the best medical treatment is the top priority of the government and all-out resources are being provided for this purpose. He said that effective system will be put in place for the treatment of the cancer patients.
