Islamic finance courses planned at IBA-CEIF

IBA Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (IBA-CEIF) has announced three courses for next two months. First one-day introductory level course titled "Basics of Islamic Banking" will be held on 20th February, 2018. This course is designed to provide intensive understanding of Islamic finance and banking concepts, background and related Shariah principles governing Islamic finance.
The participants of this course will develop an understanding of the modes of Islamic finance and how they are applicable in modern day financial system. The course aims to provide a rich learning experience to the participants, which will equip them with the required skills to explore the growing field of Islamic banking and finance.
Second one day course on "Understanding Takaful" will be conducted on 27th February, 2018 with an aims to disseminate knowledge on Takaful, its business model and the Shariah guidelines associated with it.
The course will further dwell upon the intricate differences between conventional insurance and Takaful with the help of case studies and practical examples. The primary objective of this training is to familiarize the participants with the understanding of Takaful through practical insights.
Third course on "Anti Money Laundering Measures for Takaful & IFIs" will be held on 27th March, 2018. This one-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of AML best practices and regulations in the Takaful and Islamic financial sector.
Participants will have an opportunity to understand the inherent money laundering techniques and risks that the financial community is faced with, and the mitigation strategies that can be adopted to protect clients and businesses. The course will be enriched with practical examples.
