Trade exchanges with Pakistan show 33 percent growth: Consul General Iran

The Consul General of Iran has said that trade exchanges between Pakistan and Iran show a growth of 33 percent as compared to the previous year and over the last nine months as a result of the facilities provided by the Iranian side to Pakistani traders for exports of rice, the volume of Pakistani exports to Iran has jumped up by 42 percent.
He was speaking at a reception hosted by him on the occasion of National Day ceremony of the Islamic Republic of Iran, marking the 39th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic revolution of Iran. Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said on this occasion that Pakistan and Iran are two brotherly countries and enjoy very good relations in every field.
The Consul General of Iran said all the Iranians at home and abroad across the world are celebrating this National Day. He said over the last one year in Pakistan and Karachi city he has enjoyed his stay, and having very friendly relations with the local authorities specially with Sindh Governor, Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker, diplomatic missions, great Ulemas, thinkers, business community, KCCI, FPCCI, State Bank, Customs, special economic and trade zones, media, masses and various associations. He extended his thanks to the government of Pakistan and Sindh provincial bodies for their co-operation in this regard.
"Pursuing the desire of the high-ranking authorities of Iran and Pakistan, last year as well, the embassy and consulates of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan strived effectively for further strengthening of the long historical relations between these two friendly and brotherly countries," he said.
He said in the fields of trade, Iranian and Pakistani companies had an active presence in the exhibitions of the two countries and have signed a good number of agreements with each other. This shows the huge economic and trade potentials that the two countries have and this potential must be utilized in a proper way for the benefit of the two nations.
One of my key duties here is to help facilitate and develop political, economic, trade, academic and cultural relations and co-operation between Iran and Pakistan, especially development of trade relations with the province of Sindh. Therefore, all the efforts of my colleagues are dedicated to facilitating access of trading sides to each other's markets.
To this end, this Consulate General and its commercial section saying welcome to any co-operation from trade community of Pakistan and Karachi, furnish all necessary information and extend necessary support to them. Besides, in view of the cultural wealth and tourism potential of the two countries, we have made and continue to make efforts for growth of pilgrimage and tourism travels between the two countries.
