ANP leaders condole Asma Jahangir's demise

Awami National Party (ANP) central and provincial leaders have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of well-known lawyer, rights activist and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association, Asma Jahangir.
According to statement issued here in this regard, the President ANP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and Central Vice President, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour here Monday in their separate condolence messages both paid glowing tributes to late Asma Jahangir for her services rendered for the cause of democracy, rule of law and human rights.
Hoti said, she always raised voice for the rights of deserving people and stood firm against the dictatorship. Her death, he said has badly upset people from all walks of life. The vacuum created with her tragic death will not be possible to fill, Hoti said. Bilour in his message said Asma was a brave woman and her services for the restoration of democracy and rights of poor segments of the society were unforgettable. He said Asma was not only a person but the voice of downtrodden people and custodian of constitution and supremacy of law. Her service for the country would be written in history with golden words.
