Where smart jackets were already a thing, thanks to Google and Levi’s a new feature has been added to then that will notify users when they leave their phone behind.
A while ago, Google and Levi’s collaborated to make up the Jacquard smart jacket. Now the jacket might be integrating a new function that notifies the wearer from mistakenly leaving their phones behind, as first spotted by Android Police.
The new feature has been dubbed as ‘Always Together’ and is an automatic alert that will go off if the jacket moves too far from the phones. When the alarms are triggered, the notifications appear on both the ends. This means that the phone will get a notification and the jacket’s signature sleeve tag will also blink and vibrate to grab wearer’s attention.

Google explained that in order to set up Always Together, the wearer would have to go into the Jacquard app and tap the ‘Alerts’ tab. They can then tap on their desired notification color they wish to assign to the alert.
Previously, there was a manual ‘find your phone’ feature where an allotted gesture on the jacket could prompt the phones to ring at full volume. The smart jacket can already use touch inputs for controlling things on smartphones such as music controls and navigations within Google Maps. The Jacquard also got updated to contain more functions like support for ride-sharing alerts and pin drops on a map to save locations.
