Pakistan may callback the families of diplomatic staff and other officials of its High Commission in New Delhi following incidents of their harassment by Indian security and intelligence agencies, amid escalating border tension, officials said.
Official sources said that India has already created a "warlike" situation following the all times escalated unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian troops on the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary, and now the noose around Pakistani diplomatic staff in New Delhi is being tightened.
During the last three days, the sources said that several high officials of the High Commission in New Delhi have to face harassment in one or the other way. They said that the cars of the diplomatic officials are being stopped on the pretext of one or the other excuse and they are even being abused.
In separate incidents, two vehicles of the Pakistan diplomatic staff have to face deliberate accidents, they said, adding that in another incident the vehicle carrying children of Pakistan's deputy high commissioner to their school was stopped and the children and car drivers have to face harassment at the hand of Indian security and intelligence agencies.
"Pakistan has already conveyed its concerns to Indian authorities both here in Islamabad and New Delhi...If the situation remains unchanged, it would become impossible for the diplomatic staff even to continue their diplomatic assignments in New Delhi," a senior government official warned, adding that the families of the diplomatic staff could be recalled anytime "as their continued harassment is not acceptable at all."
The Indian government, according to the sources, is citing denial of the Islamabad Club membership to Indian diplomats as harassment of their diplomatic staff and in return, the Indian side has started harassing the Pakistani diplomatic staff and their families including women and children.
