Saad accuses Zardari, Imran for doing negative politics

30 Mar, 2018

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique Thursday criticised both Asif Ali Zardari and Imran Khan for practicing negative politics and warned that no one would emerge as winner if parties continued fighting against each other. While addressing the inaugural ceremony of a new block at a girls' school here at Ghazi Road, Saad said political leaders should prioritise the country's progress.
Hitting hard against Imran Khan for constantly engaging in "politics of expletives", Saad said Imran instead of focusing on ridding Peshawar of rats was engaged in politics of allegations and lies. "Imran Khan has turned 65 years old but he was not mature enough to be the prime minister. Such a person cannot even be even a mayor."
About PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, the PML-N leader said that Asif Ali Zardari should work on making the City of Karachi clean. He said, "Our opponents are fighting among themselves fearing that the PML-N government will be voted to power again." About the sanctity of public votes, Rafique said the people stamp the ballot papers with their free consent therefore, their choices should be respected.
Meanwhile, Saad's younger brother Khawaja Salman Rafique, who is Punjab Health Minister, appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in an inquiry pertaining to the Paragon Housing Society. Sources said Salman Rafique was questioned by the NAB officials for more than an hour. It may be noted that Saad Rafique had already appeared before NAB in an investigation pertaining to the housing scam.
Furthermore, Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad also appeared before the NAB and recorded his statement in an inquiry pertaining to the Ashiana Housing Scam.
