A 15 member Thailand's delegation headed by Acting Senior Advisor on Security Coordination, National Security Council, Thailand Mrs. Siriwan Sukorndhaman, called on the Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz Tuesday.
Chairman, Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz explained the efforts made by different institutions of Pakistan to curb extremism and terrorism in Pakistan pointing to the efforts of NACTA, Law and enforcement agencies, military courts. Chairman also elaborated that the Council of Islamic Ideology had from the very first day adopted Paigham-e-Pakistan, appreciated it and made recommendations to the parliament and provincial legislatures for proper legislation regarding it, said a press release.
The delegation questioned about the provision of rights to minorities, their participation in political activities, their religious rights, religious sects in Pakistan and their ideological themes and how Pakistan deals with sectarian ideologies. They also asked about the educational reforms on the basis of Islamic ideology and possibilities to implement moderate Islam in Pakistan.
