Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Ch Arfan Yousaf has urged the government to simplify the procedure for filing the income tax returns. While speaking at a meeting at the FPCCI regional office here Wednesday he said that the government should take steps to enhance taxpayers' confidence in tax collection machinery.
He was of the view that the upcoming budget should bring liberal investment policies for infrastructure development, broadening tax base and creating jobs. Ch Arfan Yousaf expressing concern over the five percent rupee devaluation during the current year said it is negatively impacting the entire business activities.
He also held the unfriendly business policies responsible for current economic scenario. He said the country's exports have been declined from US $25 billion to $20 billion during last three-four years and the government should take drastic measures to fight against the rising trade deficit.
