Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 208,331 tonnes of cargo comprising 138,403 tonnes of import cargo and 69,928 tonnes of export cargo including 7,033 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 138,403 tonnes comprised of 41,089 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,640 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,347 tonnes of DAP and 77,327 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 69,928 tonnes comprised of 45,816 tonnes of containerised cargo; 725 tonnes of bulk cargo; 17,242 tonnes of wheat; 1,795 tonnes of sugar and 4,350 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 7,033 containers comprising of 2,956 containers import and 4,077 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 992 of 20's and 791 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 191 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,331 of 20's and 418 of 40's loaded containers while 682 of 20's and 614 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were seven ships namely Piraeus, Kota Kamil, Hyundai Force, Navios Verano, MT Karachi, Oriental Rose and Vinalines Brave carrying containers, oil tankers and wheat respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Kota Kamil, MSC Lana, Chemway Arrow and Da Kang carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

The total import cargo of 131,644 tonnes includes 45,000 tonnes of LNG; 6,287 tonnes of diesel oil; 15,030 tonnes of palm oil; 16,000 tonnes of coal; 14,627 tonnes of steel coil and 34,200 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 70,834 tonnes includes 13,561 tonnes of cement; 1,336 tonnes of steel coil; 7,000 tonnes of clinker and 48,887 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,373 containers comprising of 1,800 containers import and 2,573 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There was one ship namely MV Pan Gloris carrying steel coil sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV APL Miami, MV Navios Achilles and MV IVS Windsor carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Tempanos, CV APL Miami, MV White Fin, MV Pan Gloris, MV Navios Achilles, MV IVS Windsor, MV Maritime Setoshio, MT Al-Shumail and MT NCC Maha were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, wheat, steel coil, coal, clinker, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fifteen ships namely MV Sakizaya Champion, MV Ruby Star, MV Aris-T, MV Gas Chem Pacific, MV Pacific Talent, MV Endeavour Strait, MV Aziziz, MV GH Cilation, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Jo Pinari, MT Glorious, MT UACC Ibn Al-Hajiham, MT Ocean Prelate and MT NCC Tabuk carrying soyabean, canola, chemical, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were four vessels viz. Aris-T, MV GH Cilation, MV Gas Chem Pacific and MV YM Miranda carrying canola, coal and chemical expected to take berths at Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday. There were three ships namely CV Northern Power, CV Virgo and CV CMA CGM Afila carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There are three ships namely CV Express Rome, CV CMA CGM Virginia and CV GH Chnook carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday.
