Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday restrained the anti-corruption department from harassing former chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim in connection with an inquiry of alleged embezzlement during his term. A division bench was hearing the plea of Arbab, who had approached SHC against anti-corruption department for 'harassing' him.
Arbab who remained Sindh CM from 2004 to 2007 has claimed PPP government in the province was victimizing him as he was a political opponent. He contended he could be arrested with malafide intention ahead of the general elections as he was going to contest the election against the PPP. Arbab prayed to the court to restrain anti-corruption department from harassing him. Directing the respondents to ensure submission of their comments, the court put off hearing.
