KCFR arranges interactive session with Vice Rector MGIMO

The Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) Friday arranged an interactive session at Hotel Marriot with the visiting Vice Rector of the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Relations (MGIMO) Evgeny Michailovich Kozhokinon on the topic of Current stage of International Relations and Information Policy (in the context of Russia-US Relations).
Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi, Secretary General of KCFR briefed the audiences on the agenda and working of the Council. Evgeny Michailovich in his address gave a detailed picture of the current international political scenario where the US wants to command the arena. Russia and China has been cooperating in political and economic fields to bring peace to World. The newer and lethal weapons being produced demand a strict vigilance by big powers to take actions to avoid conflicts. Use of nuclear weapons should never be considered an option as it will destroy the whole World, he added.
On Pakistan, the Vice Rector of MGIMO stated Russia is fully aware of the importance of Pakistan. While, Russia will maintain its traditional relationship with India it is seeking venues for enhancing cooperation with Pakistan. A large trade and business delegation from Russia will soon visit Pakistan to exchange view with government official, trade and business leaders on future cooperation venues in education and business.
Responding to question on Ukraine crisis, Evgeny stated that the hardline elements created this crisis to malign Russia and it led to the Crimean issue. He also briefed the audiences on Russian point of view on Afghanistan and Syria. The Vice Chairman Vice Admiral Khalid Mir summed up salient points of the briefing in his vote of thanks.
