US natural gas futures extended losses, falling 2 percent, after federal data showed a smaller-than-expected withdrawal of the fuel from storage last week. Front-month gas futures for May delivery fell 5.3 cents or 2 percent to $2.665 per million British thermal units at 10:53 am EDT (1453 GMT). The US Energy Information Administration on Thursday reported utilities withdrew 20 billion cubic feet of gas from storage in the week ended March 30.
