Eight accused arrested by NAB Karachi

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi on Tuesday claimed to have arrested eight accused persons nominated in reference No. 2 in 2018 filed in Accountability Court Karachi. The accused persons were arrested subsequent to withdrawal / recall of their pre-arrest bails by the Sindh High Court. The detained persons namely Nisar Ahmed Jan Memon aka Nisar Morai, Abdul Saeed, Sultan Qamar Siddiqui and others were charged on the allegations of corruption and corrupt practices including illegal appointments of 400 employees in Fisherman Cooperative Society (FCS) BPS-18 during January 2014 to July 2017, illegal award of fake construction contracts in FCS and subsequent withdrawal of amounts by cash for personal gains and embezzlement in trash fish sale without auction, causing Rs 343.79 million to the national exchequer.
Furthermore, around 13 accused persons were nominated in the said reference of which eight accused were nabbed on April 10 to raise total arrests to 11 and two of them were declared abscondeRs
The eight arrested persons namely Nisar Ahmed Jan Memon, ex-chairman Fisherman Cooperative Society, Abdul Saeed Khan, ex-chairman Fisherman Cooperative Society, Sultan Qamar Siddiqui, ex-vice chairman Fisherman Cooperative Society, Haji Wali Muhammad, ex-manager Fisherman Cooperative Society, Shahid Hussain, ex-manager Finance Cooperative Society, Imran Afzal, contractor, Riaz Ahmed, ex-manager market (FCS) and Amjad Iqbal Warraich, ex-manager market (FCS).
