Hearing former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Ghaus Ali Shah's petition against Sindh government for transferring the voters of his constituency from Tehsil Khairpur to Tehsil Kingi, a division Sindh High Court bench headed by Justice Iqbal Kahoro directed the respondent to furnish its reply by May 14.
Ghaus in his petition accused Sindh Government of indulging in pre-poll rigging by taking out Garhi Nuri area of Tehsil Khaipur to include in it Tehsil Kingri.
Meanwhile, Sindh High Court (SHC) commenced hearing on a noted scientist Sibt Murtaza, who moved the court against Law, Cooperative & Administrative Secretaries. Sibt Murtaza, who worked with noted Pakistani Scientist Dr Abdul Qadir Khan, informed the court that land grabbers have been threatening him to occupy his plot, which he purchased in 1998. The land grabbers demanded Rs 5 million and threatened to occupy his plot of land if the money was not paid. SHC sought replies from the authorities concerned by May 02 and adjourned the hearing.
