Cell phone smuggling bid foiled

Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Monday claimed to have foiled an attempt of smuggling cell phones worth Rs 2.1 million from a passenger, coming from Dubai. According to details, the preventive staff posted at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) on a tip-off intercepted a passenger namely Muhammad Noman, who travelled from foreign airline flight EK-606. During his physical examination, the staff has recovered 179 cell phones of assorted brands worth Rs 2.1 million from his possession.
Consequent upon recovery, a case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
