Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will make arrangements for the visitors who go to graveyards to pray for their deceased relatives or friends at night between 14 and 15 Shaaban that is called Shab-e-Barat. On directives of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, the KMC officials convened a meeting to review arrangements relating to the holy night. City Council's parliamentary leader Aslam Shah presided over the meeting at KMC building, here on Monday.
He directed the KMC officials to ensure better arrangements including lighting, cleanliness and potable water supply in all graveyards in the city. He said fumigation drive would also be carried out on the eve of Shab-e-Barat. Each spray vehicle will cover area around Jamia Masjids and graveyards in each district. As many as 40 generators and 1160 starch lights would be used at 24 KMC graveyards. Aslam hoped said measures would facilitate Karachiites who would go to the graves of their relatives and friends for fateha on the occasion of holly night.
