1,655 KP police officials sacrificed lives so far in war against terror

In the ongoing war against terror so far 1655 police officers and jawans of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police sacrificed their precious lives in line of duty till 1st quarter of the year 2018. Capital City Police rendered more sacrifices and stood 1st with the tally of 458 which has no parallel in the history of police of any country. The credit of becoming stumbling block in the way of suicide bombers also goes to Capital City Police. This gallantry act was repeated many times in Peshawar and thus averted havoc to innocent human lives.
Similarly, improvised vehicle's borne explosive were stopped before hitting its target several times. Bannu police stood 2nd and D I Khan police 3rd with the sacrifices of its 159 and 136 police officers and jawans, respectively.
The officers and jawans martyred during this period included two Additional IGPs, two DIGs, seven SPs, one ASP, 25 DSPs, 26 Inspectors, 123 Sub Inspectors, 134 Assistant Sub Inspectors, 153 Head Constables and 1182 Constable.
It may be recalled that general public fought shoulder to shoulder with its police force against the terrorists and even the elected representatives fully backed its police and sacrificed their lives in the war against terror.
During this period, district wise details of these sacrifices are Peshawar 458, Bunnu 159, Swat 135, DIK 136, Mardan 117, Charsadda 87, Hangu 67, Kohat 86, Swabi 61, Lakki Marwat 52, Dir Lower 44, Buner 32, Dir Upper 32, Shangla 27, Nowshera 32, Tank 29, Mansehra 34, Karak 19, Chitral 11, Haripur 10, Abbottabad 13, Batagram 5, Tor Ghar 5 and Kohistan 4 sacrificed their precious lives.
