21 Apr, 2018

Amreli Steels launched the 'City of Jinnah' Monument near Dolmen Mall, Clifton Karachi. The monument features 4 portraits of the Father of Nation, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which have been made with Amreli Steel's product, steel bars. The monument was inaugurated by the Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala. After the opening speech of Amreli Steels chairman Abbas Akberali, the Chief Guest Saleem Mandviwala was asked to unveil the monument.
Speaking on the occasion, Abbas Akberali said "Amreli Steels' corporate manifesto has always included a consciousness of the environment in which it operates. With the company headquarters and majority of our stakeholders associated with the city of Karachi, we believe it is our duty to contribute to this city in some small way. In order to achieve this we decided to construct 'The City of Jinnah monument' as a gift from Amreli Steels to the city of Karachi. Since Jinnah was born in Karachi and resided here after partition as well, Karachi is also known as the 'City of Jinnah'. In a city where buildings touch the sky, it is a reminder to the public on the importance of solid foundations."
"The monument is based on industrial art in which Amreli Steel's bars have been creatively used to recreate the image of Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It is no coincidence that Jinnah, the founder of the nation, also had a steely resolve about life and a resilience that kept him going despite the many obstacles he faced before he could achieve his goal of a separate nation..."
Saleem Mandviwala also reciprocated the sentiment by congratulating Amreli Steels for constructing such a pleasing and profound monument. Moreover, he noted the contributions of Amreli Steels for Pakistan as its steel is being used to strengthen structures and landmarks all over the country. The Senate deputy chairman also spoke about the importance of private sector companies playing their part in society and expressed satisfaction over the law and order situation in Karachi in recent years.
In addition to the Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, the event was attended by an array of prominent businessmen, government officials, company management and press.-PR
