Paediatric emergency centre opens at Lyari General Hospital

The Child Life Foundation in collaboration with Sindh government has established Pediatric Emergency Centre at Lyari General Hospital (LGH) to provide emergency care for the residents of Lyari. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday at LGH, Secretary Health Fazalullah Pechuho lauded the services of the Child Life Foundation for providing healthcare facilities to the child patients.
Child Life Foundation has opened up its fourth children ER at government run hospital as it previously had established same facilities at National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and Korangi General Hospital.
Talking to Business Recorder, Chief Executive Officer, Child Life Foundation, Dr Ahson Rabbani informed that Children ER at Lyari General Hospital comprises of 54 bed which is modern, fully automated, equipped with cardiac monitors, defibrillators, resuscitation, phototherapy units and well stocked pharmacy. All treatment and medicines are provided free of cost. "All Pediatricians and paramedical staff are qualified, trained and skilled in emergency care," he added.
Queue management system, automation to save lives and telemedicine have been introduced in ER to facilitate the entire process of saving lives. Dr Rabbani said this children ER is another milestone to serve population of Lyari with a vision to benefit patient with early and easy access to quality emergency care. Director clinical affairs, Dr Irfan Habib, director operations, Dr Shahid Raza along with Dr Huba and GM communications, Tabish Shahzad were also present at the occasion.
