ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Monday said grants were approved for the supply of gas to districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and after approval of the federal cabinet, the projects would be carried out.
Responding to a calling attention notice in the National Assembly here, he said Hangu and Karak were oil and gas producing areas but in the past infrastructure was not developed and people were deprived of the gas facility.
The issue was raised by members of National Assembly Junaid Akbar, Saleem Rehman, Fazal Muhammad Khan and Khial Zaman.
Sarwar said according to a court order, if gas was not provided to the areas from where it was produced then it should also not be given to other areas of the province as well.
Sarwar assured that the ongoing schemes of gas supply would be completed.
