Mobile phone service has been restored in Mohmand Agency after the passage 13 months, its closure caused difficulties for tribesmen and negatively affected business activities in the region. It will be mentioned here that last year the authorities on the evening of March 15 suspended all mobile phone services throughout the entire tribal agency without any notice and unknown reason.
The subscribers of different mobile phone companies suddenly found their services snapped. Authorities did not issue any statement in this regard. However, an official of a cell tower said that they were directed to suspend all their phone services in the area. On Saturday, Telenor service was restored at 6pm in the tribal region and the local residents welcomed the restoration of mobile services in the area and termed it good and big news for the tribesmen.
In early months 2017 the tribal area witnessed worsening security condition. On 15th February, 2017 a suicide bomb attack occurred on the main levy gate in which five persons including three levy personnel were also killed.
