German envoy for enhancing bilateral trade

Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan Jens Jokisch, in a meeting with President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) discuss certain issues pertaining to mutual interests and to enhancing bilateral trade between Germany and Pakistan on Monday.
Jens Jokisch, Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan thanked the people of Sialkot for their warm hospitality and appreciated the diversity of the Sialkot Industry. He also applauded the Business Community for their exceptional projects including Sialkot International Airport and AIRSIAL.
Jens Jokisch highlighted that the German Embassy was focusing on three major areas; Youth, Education and Private Sector Involvement. He mentioned that efforts were being made to establish a German Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan which would bridge the gap between the business communities bringing more business and investment. Talking about the visa issues he told that new policy for long term visa was under consideration. He also praised the improving law and order situation of the Country and stressed upon the need to project a positive image of Pakistan so that the world may know about the potential available in the Country.
On this occasion SCCI President Zahid Latif Malik informed that business Community of Sialkot is keen to further strengthen the multi-dimensional and beneficial economic cooperation through frequent interactions of private sectors, exchange of trade delegations and enhanced one-to-one meetings of businessmen from both sides providing easy visa regime. He emphasized that Sialkot exporters had great potential to capture in German Market by exporting their world class traditional and non-traditional export products and also highlighted the investment potential for German businesses in Pakistan and particularly Sialkot. He also appreciated the role of Germany for extension of GSP+ status to Pakistan. Many other issues pertaining to bilateral trade between Pakistan and Germany were also discussed on the occasion.
