Misbehaviour with police: US embassy security officer arrested

The city police on Tuesday arrested Chief Security Officer of the US Embassy, Taimur Pirzada, for misbehaving with police, following a vehicle driven by a US diplomat hit and injured a motorcyclist. The police said that chief security officer of the US Embassy was taken into custody during an inquiry, following the directions of Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, Sultan Azam Temuri.
As per first information report (FIR) registered against Pirzada, he attacked and misbehaved with Station House Officer Abdul Sattar and tried to stop police from shifting the car and its driver, US Embassy's Second Secretary Chad Rex Auburn who was involved in an accident, to police station. Pirzada was charged and arrested under sections 353 and 186.
Auburn hit a motorcyclist namely Nazakat Islam and left him injured. Soon after the incident the police arrived at the scene; however, at first he refused to come out of the car but later he was got down and he identified himself. The police shifted the diplomat and his vehicle to the Secretariat police station. However, he was later handed over to the Foreign Office after verification of his documents.
