A small training aircraft was crashed in a populated area of Lahore's Garden Town on Tuesday afternoon, rescuers and police officials said. The plane's pilot identified as Muhammad Faheem and trainee co-pilot Hasham were slightly wounded when their plane crashed after experiencing technical difficulties, they said. Both the victims were taken to a nearby hospital where doctors provided them first aid and released as they sustained minor injuries.
The rescuers said the plan caught fire after being hit from live wires of an electricity pole which also damaged severely. They said they quickly extinguished the fire which erupted after the crash. The nature of the technical fault that led to the crash is yet to be determined.
Talking to media, Pilot Faheem said after the plan experienced technical problems in flying, he decided to land it in a less populated area. The police are further looking into the incident.
