Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has said that quality education is the constitutional right of all citizens. She was chairing a meeting of the Parliamentary Taskforce on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) here on Tuesday. The minister was briefed about the achievements of provincial task forces. She expressed satisfaction and lauded the efforts made by the task forces and international partners.
The meeting was told that 22.8 million children are out of schools and poverty is the reason behind it. The presentation showed positive budget increase in education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Marriyum said that the response of task forces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is appreciable, adding, "We are moving toward bright future."
She said that after the 18th amendment, all provinces hold the powers to take initiatives, especially in education and health sectors. While responding to some points, she said, "We should avoid politics on religion, education and health and should move forward with positive approach." She said many NGOs are working for the progress of youth, and helping them in getting better jobs. She also said many of them want to polish their technical skills and work in the field of technology.
