JPTC Phase II groundbreaking ceremony held

The American Embassy's International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Section (INL) Director Gregory Schiffer held a joint groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police Additional IGP Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan for Phase II construction of the Joint Police Training Center (JPTC), worth almost 924 million rupees ($8 million). Other senior KP police officers also attended the event at the JPTC.
In a press statement issued here said that the Phase-II construction of JPTC will double the JPTC's current training capacity. Since 2011, INL has assisted the KP Police with more than 1 billion rupees ($9 million) for the construction of the JPTC Phase I as well as 196 million rupees ($1.7 million) worth of equipment support. Since its launch in June 2014, more than 4,000 KP police personnel, including more than 100 female police commandos, have been trained at the JPTC.
