Drugs worth Rs 2.39 billion seized

Anti Narcotics Force Pakistan seized 226kg narcotics valuing Rs 2.39 billion internationally, arrested 30 persons including 3 women involved in drug smuggling and impounded 7 vehicles while conducting 27 counter-narcotics strikes across the country recently. According to ANF spokesman, the seized drugs comprised of 121.3kg hashish, 38kg heroin, 64.2kg opium, 2.900kg amphetamine, 610 liters suspected chemical & 670 x rests roil capsules. Most of the recovered drugs were intended to be smuggled abroad.
ANF Lahore carried out seven operations and foiled five attempts to smuggle heroine and other drugs to Canada, Saudi Arabia and China at Lahore and Faisalabad airports. ANF Rawalpindi carried out five operations and recovered various quantizes of hashish, heroine, Amphetamine and arrested the drug traffickers.
ANF Peshawar carried out eleven operations and recovered large quantities of hashish, heroine, opium and other narcotics from the paddlers and foiled several attempts to smuggle these drugs abroad at the Peshawar airport. ANF Quetta seized 560 liters acetone in an intelligence based operation conducted at Mountainous Area of Sor Gul, Tehsil Dalbandin, district Chagai. In another operation, ANF Quetta recovered 50kg Opium and 50 liters suspected chemical from deserted place in Killi Wadiyan near Gawala Stop, Tehsil Nokundi, District Chagai. As per Initial information, the drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang.
ANF Karachi intercepted a motorcycle and seized 12kg Hashish from the possession of the accused. In another operation, ANF Karachi recovered 2.5kg hashish from possession of two accused residing in Hyderabad. They were arrested near Kotri Pahatak, Jamshoro. All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are under way.
