After much wait and date postpones, Elon Musk’s Boring Company has finally unveiled its ultra-fast, high-tech 1.14-mile underground tunnel.
In a recent series of tweets, CEO Musk showed off Tesla’s Model X sitting in the underground tunnel that runs from SpaceX property in LA to O’Leary Station, reportedly costing about $10 million.
This can be applied to any autonomous, electric vehicle, not just Tesla

Musk showed off a picture of a Tesla car with ‘retractable wheel gear’ that will turn a car into a rail-guided train and back again for travelling in the tunnel. Musk informed that this feature is not only limited to Tesla, but can also be applied to any autonomous or electric vehicle.
The demo ride takes you in *same* car on road, down elevator, zips through tunnel using guide wheels, up elevator at destination & then drives on normal roads back to start

He then explained that the demo ride of the tunnel will take the person in the same car on road down the elevator, which will then zip through the tunnel with the help of guide wheels. After reaching the destination, an upwards elevator will take the person up where they can driver normally on roads.
All Boring Loops will include continuously circulating cars dedicated to pedestrians & cyclists

Moreover, the billionaire also informed that the cars have the capability to travel safely at speed of over 150mph, which Musk describes will feel like teleporting within a city. Also, as Musk describes the tunnels, which he named as the Boring Loops, will include continuously circulating cars that will entirely be dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists, as he had promised earlier.
Furthermore, as per Engadget, Musk said that ‘eventually’ he expects to connect these Loops to Hyperloops with high-speed capsules.
