Jordan buys 60,000 tonnes of wheat

20 May, 2018

Jordan's state grains buyer purchased 60,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in a tender for up to 120,000 tonnes which closed on Wednesday, European traders said. It was bought at $224.50 a tonne c&f for shipment in the first half of September. Seller was trading house Ameropa. Three trading companies participated in the tender.
The other participants were Cerealcom Dolj which offered $230 a tonne c&f and CHS which offered $232 a tonne, traders said. Jordan has struggled to make purchases in a series of grain tenders in recent months, with traders saying uncertainty about specifications and payment terms has reduced participation by major grain exporting houses.
