Chinese Luban workshop to open on June 18

Chairman Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said on Tuesday that Pakistan's first, world's sixth Chinese Luban Workshop will be inaugurated on June 18. While addressing at a meeting held at TEVTA Secretariat to review the arrangements of the inauguration of the Luban Workshop, Irfan said that the inauguration ceremony will be held at Government Technical Training Institute Gulberg Lahore and will be attended by high level delegation from China.
Irfan said that establishment of this historic Chinese Workshop will be a trend setter in the technical education in Pakistan. 150 years old Chinese Luban Workshop which is working in five countries will be inaugurated on June 18. Irfan further said that initially five courses under Electrical Automation Technology will be offered.
These courses include Online Advance Chinese Language Course, Micromouse, Automation Production Line and Mechatronics Training System. In all of these courses, Chinese master trainers will provide training for permanent basis. Talking about importance of workshop, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that there are number of institute available teaching conventional technical education but Luban Workshop will be a unique training institute. The students who will get training in this Luban Workshop will be able to avail job opportunities worldwide.
He also termed this workshop as another great example of Pak-China friendship. He said that this workshop is already operational in Asian countries but TEVTA Punjab has this honor that it is establishing it with the generous collaboration with China. This would help us enhancing our technical education level as per global standards, he said.
