Call for making tourism points more attractive

Chairman of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's Standing Committee on Tourism Raja Hassan Akhtar has stressed the need for development of tourism sites in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Northern areas to attract tourists. Speaking at a meeting held in connection with the promotion of tourism in Pakistan at the FPCCI Regional office on Wednesday, he said tourism has become a big industry in the world. Pakistan can also exploit its huge potential by making tourism points attractive for the local and as well as foreign tourists, he said.
The country has also historical cities including Lahore which has plenty of historical buildings that can be made more attractive for tourists by organizing various festivals here, he added. He said the tourism industry can play an important role in the economic development therefore the government should focus on promotion of this vital sector.
