The continuing heat waves spell is expected to scorch the metropolis in the next 48 hours with a maximum temperature up to 42 degrees Celsius, the Met Office said on Wednesday.
Maximum humidity level on Thursday and Friday is expected up to 60 percent. "Hot to very hot weather is likely to prevail in Karachi during next 1-2 days and maximum temperature is expected to remain in the range of 41-43 degrees Celsius. Sea breeze is likely to occasionally cut-off and wind from northwest to southwest is expected to prevail," the Met Office said.
Weather on Wednesday remained very hot with sizzling waves that battered the city from dawn to dusk with a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius. Other parts of the province which simmering weather struck were: Chorr 47 degrees Celsius, Mithi 46, Sibbi 45, Jacobabad, Lasbella Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana 44, each.
