The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has advised the rice growers to sow approved varieties Irri-6, KS-282, KSK-133, KSK-434, Nayyab Irri-9, Nayyab 2013 till June 07 to get maximum yield. In an advisory issued here on Thursday, a spokesman of the department further said that Super Basmati, Basmati-385, Basmati Pak (Col. Basmati), Basmati-515, PS-2, PK-386, Channab Basmati, Punjab basmati, Noor Basmati and Nayyab Basmati-2016 should cultivate from 1st June to 20th June and Shaheen Basmati and Kissan basmati should be cultivated from 15th to 30th June.
Hybrid varieties of rice Arrizer Swift, Y-26, Pride-1, Shahenshah-2, PHB-71 should sow till 15th June. The Spokesman further said that in case seedling of rice appears to be weak then growers should use 250 gram per Marla Urea or 400 gram per Marla Calcium Amonium Nitrate ten days before it is transplanted in field and for better results irrigate field before transplantation of rice.
