There is absolutely no doubt about the fact that the ministry of defence report has effectively dispelled a wild speculation that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was involved in orchestrating and sustaining the Faizabad protest. In fact, the ministry has pointed out ISI had made every effort to support the government in a peaceful resolution of the issue. According to the report, fake stories about the role of intelligence agency were cooked up and spread by users on the social media. The irony is that those "in influential position" tried to lend credence to such non-sense by making highly objectionable remarks regarding conspiracy theories. How unfortunate it is that the 'rhetoric of political leadership' was responsible for aggravating the situation. Little do our politicians know that their less than responsible conduct is adding to political unrest in the country. Despite the culmination of two five-year uninterrupted tenures of elected civilian governments ours is still a long, slow road to political maturity.
