The Punjab police on Friday inaugurated the Provincial Foreigners Security Cell (PFSC) at Allama Iqbal International Airport with an aim to enable law enforcers to maintain more effectively inflow and outflow of foreign inhabitants, especially Chinese people in the provincial capital.
Accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of the Special Protection Unit (SPU) of the Punjab police, Muhammad Faisal Rana and other senior officers, Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan inaugurated the cell. While talking to media, the DIG SPU said the purpose behind the establishment of this cell was to ensure security of foreigners, particularly Chinese inhabitants by developing an effective mechanism of maintaining their inflow and outflow in the country.
DIG Faisal said he also briefed in detail the IGP about the security matters of foreign delegations and how the law enforcers can watch their movements. "After the briefing, the IG Punjab appreciated us and instructed me to also launch similar projects in other areas of the country, mainly where Chinese people are working on various developmental projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)," he said.
