On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,506. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at USD 4.222 billion and the number of lots traded was 8,494.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 1.512 billion, followed by currencies through COTS PKR 798.884 million, WTI crude oil PKR 642.058 million, NSDQ100 PKR 489.012 million, SP500 PKR 190.715 million, platinum PKR 186.291 million, DJ PKR 113.621 million, silver PKR 85.266 million, copper PKR 85.194 million, natural gas PKR 70.871 million and Brent crude oil PKR 48.088 million. In agriculture, 15 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 8.107 million were traded.
