United Business Group's patron-in-chief S.M. Muneer has expressed hope that caretaker government would hold free and fair elections in a peaceful environment that would help improve Pakistan's image abroad.
"Business community hopes that new government to be formed as a result of elections will strive to boot business activities and improve business environment," he said, adding this would happen when the political parties would also have sufficient representation from business community in national and provincial assemblies.
Muneer held political parties in power responsible for water and power crisis.
"Whenever they remained in power they totally ignored issues relating to water reservoirs," he said, citing that whenever they became opposition they always raised the issues of water reservoirs. He said Pakistan needs to implement water policy in order to make agriculture sector more vibrant and to generate hydroelectricity, which is more cheap energy resource. He also emphasized in plantation of tress to halt degradation of environment. He called for a proper mechanism to take acre of trees.
