Nisar lashes out at PML-N leadership for denying him ticket

Former interior minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday lashed out at the party leadership allegedly for finding excuses not to give him the party ticket for contesting the upcoming general elections. In a statement, the PML-N dissident leader said that he had already explained that he is neither a candidate for the party ticket nor he is aspirant to get any ticket for contesting the July 25 general elections.
Nisar who has already announced to contest the upcoming general elections from NA-63 Taxila and NA-59 Rawalpindi, also criticized the criterion for appearing in an interview for the parliamentary board to get the party ticket. "Was it happened in the past when senior most party leaders who have history of winning the lections have been asked to appear before the parliamentary board for an interview prior to getting the party ticket?", he asked. "I want to convey to those sitting in Jati Umra to refrain from making a fun of me and avoid getting mocked through such dramas and childish acts," he added. Nisar also warned that he would speak openly on the situation as soon as he gets well from the illness.
The party sources said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif are at loggerheads with regard to issuing a party ticket to Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to contest the upcoming general election form the PML-N platform.
They said that Nawaz Sharif is upset at Nisar's fiery statements against the party leadership while Shahbaz Sharif wants the former interior minister to contest the upcoming general elections on the party's ticket.
