ANP general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said forces interested to postpone elections cannot succeed as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), caretaker government and the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) had hinted at timely elections.
He expressed these views while talking to the media after the acceptance of his nomination papers at Kachehri on Tuesday. He told that his nomination papers have been accepted and preparations for the elections are in full-swing. He said the holding of elections as per schedule is must. However, he said acts like the resolution of Balochistan Assembly, letter of KP chief minister and amendments in the nomination form have raise apprehensions regarding postponement of polls.
Earlier, addressing organizational meetings at Saleh Khana and Speen Khak of the provincial assembly constituency PK-65, Mian Iftikhar said he believes in serving the people and after coming into power will provide facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
On this occasion, dozens of people from different political parties announced joining ANP. Mian Iftikhar further said ANP believes in the stability of democracy, political awareness, supremacy of law and access to justice. He said they will guarantee the implementation of the 18th Constitutional Amendment and particularly, natural resources, oil, gas, water, power, different sources of energy, health and education will be amongst their top priorities.
