Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) overwhelms the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMMA) - a religious parties' electoral alliance - with a majority of candidates to field in the next general election in Karachi. The MMA Parliamentary Board Sindh has allotted 16 national assembly seats to the JI, three to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan and two to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) in Karachi. Similarly, the board also finalized 23 contestants for provincial assembly slots in Karachi with 15 of JI, five of JUI-F, two of JUP and one of Islami Tehreek.
Dr Meraj-ul-Huda Siddique of JI will contest polls on NA 256, Rashid Naseem, NA 254, and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman NA 250, JI's former Karachi chief, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti NA 247, a trader's leader, Zahid Saeed NA 244 and Dr Osama Razi NA 243, former Sindh Chief of JI, Assad Ullah Bhutto NA 242, Saifuddin NA 245, Laiq Khan NA 251, Monam Zafar Khan NA 253, Abdul Majeed Khan Khaskheli NA 252, Syed Atta Ullah Shah NA 249 and Abdul Jameel Khan on NA 240.
JUI-F's Qari Usman will fight for NA 248 and Maulana Noor-ul-Haq for NA 246. Mustaqeem Qureshi of the JUP will contest from NA 255, Saleem Hussain NA 241 and Aleem Khan Ghori from NA 239.
JI's Altaf Patani will fight on PS 88, Mumtaz Sehto PS 89, Taufeeq Uddin Siddique PS 93 and Manzoor Ferozi PS 97, Younis Barai PS 100, Muhammad Qutab PS 102, Junaid Mukhati PS 103 and Zahoor Jadoon PS 104, Fazal-ur-Rehman PS 107, Saeed Abdul Rasheed PS 108, Faisal Ghaffar PS 109 and Sufiyan Dilawar PS 111, Abdul Razzaq PS 120, Khalid Siddique PS 124 and Farooq Naimatullah PS 126, JI Karachi Chief, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman PS 129, Naseem Siddique PS 130. JUI-F's Hafiz Hamad Ullah Haqani will contest for PS 87, Mir Ihsan Ullah PS 90 and Maulana Ihsan Ullah Takrawi PS 91.
Maulana Ghayas is contesting from PS 99, Muhammad Asalm Ghori PS 106 and Qari Usman PS 114. JUP's Aleem Khan Ghori will contest from PS 94, Rajab Ali Chishti for PS 96, Siddique Rathore PS 127 and Islami Tehreek's Sarwar Ali PS 105.
