13 Jun, 2018

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday directed the federal government to replace the chief secretaries and police chiefs of all provinces with immediate effect. The Commission issued directives to Establishment Division for appointing new chief secretaries and inspector generals of police in four provinces. Following the appointments, they all are required to attend a meeting to be convened by the ECP on June 14.
An official of the ECP said that the Commission will make sure that the PML-N in Punjab, PPP in Sindh and PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa do not take any undue advantage from the bureaucracy of respective provinces. Earlier, caretaker Prime Minister Former Justice Nasirul Mulk said that the interim government is firmly committed to providing all possible assistance to the electoral body for holding free, fair and peaceful election as per schedule. He was talking to the Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza who called on him here on Tuesday.
