JI leader calls for strict adherence to Quranic teachings

Deputy Chief of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, has said that glory of the Muslims lays in strict adherence to the teachings of the Holy Quran. Addressing the ceremony marking the completion of the Holy Quran in the Taraweeh at the Mansoora mosque, he said that the nation which faithfully followed the Quranic teachings inevitably gained true guidance and respect while the people who ignored the divine teachings, faced humiliation and disgrace in this world and was also fated to meet total failure in the hereafter.
He said if the Muslim Ummah wanted respect and dignity in the world, it would have to hold fast to the Holy Quran. Similarly, he said, if the Muslim rulers abandoned the slavery of Washington and opted the slavery of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH); they could regain glory and respect in the world.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that all Almighty blessed the Muslims with a grand victory in the battle of Badr, the conquest of Makkah and the conquest of Baitul Maqdis during the holy month of Ramazan. Similarly, he said, it was on the seared night of the 27th of Ramazan that Pakistan came into being.
The JI deputy chief said that the Muslims; blood was being shed in Palestine, Kashmir, Burma and Iraq and Syria but the world community was indifferent.
He said there had been a time when on the call from a single oppressed Muslim lady in distress, young Muhammad bin Qasim reached this region after wading through the sea, and Salahud Din Ayubi captured Jerusalem. But, unfortunately, so called commander Pervez Musharraf had handed over the respectable Muslim lady Dr Aafia Siddiqui, to the enemy in return for a few dollars. This degradation was due to our drifting away from the Quranic teachings.
He said it was high time that the faithful offered collective penitence and the Ummah tried to hold fast to the Quran.
Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said that Allah had blessed Pakistan with the capability to lead the Ummah but the corrupt and selfish leadership had defamed the country at world level.
He said if the nation wanted to get out of the prevailing crisis, it should support the religious parties alliance MMA which had fielded competent and honest people.
