A total of 191 candidates belonging to various political, religious parties and independents have submitted their nomination papers for 3 National Assembly (NA) and 8 provincial assembly (PA) seats in Mardan district. Former chief minister Ameer Haider Hoti and former provincial minister Mohammad Atif Khan will contest the upcoming election on NA-21 Mardan-2. An interesting and tough contest is expected between the two main opponents in the district, sources said.
As many as 41 candidates of various political, religious parties and independent candidates have submitted their nomination papers for 3 National Assembly seats in the district. Those who submitted nomination papers for NA-20 Mardan-1 are Mujahid Khan of PTI, Gul Nawaz Khan of ANP, Hamadullah Yousafzai of JUI-F, Atta-ur-Rehman of JI, Umar Farooq Khan of PPP, Khwaja Mohammad Khan Hoti of PPP, Shaheen of PML-N, Gulam Ishaq Khan of TNP, Mohammad Faheem Khan of PTI while Zeeshan Khanzada, Sajjid Said, Azam Khan, Izhar Yousafzai, Akhtar Nawaz and Adnan Khan submitted their nomination paper as independent candidates.
For NA-21 Mardan-2 ANP's provincial president and former chief minister Ameer Haider Hoti, PTI's central additional general secretary and former provincial minister Mohammad Atif Khan, Ahmed Khan of ANP, Iftikhar Ahmed Farooq of Pakistan PPP, Maulana Shujaul Mulak of JUI-F (MMA), Nawabzada Arsala Khan Hoti of PML-N, Mohammad Said of PTA while Mukhtyar, Syed Abid Ali Shah, Umar Masood-ur-Rehman, Abdul Salam and Syed Ikramullah Khan have submitted their nomination as independent candidates.
Those who submitted their nomination paper for NA-22 Mardan-3 are Maulana Mohammad Qasim of JUI-F (MMA), Sultan Mohammad of JI (MMA) and Shoaib Alam Khan of PPP, Malak Aman Khan of ANP, Jamsheed Mohmand of PML-N while Ehsanullah, Ali Mohammad, Jalal Khan Khattak, Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, Amir Khan, Khawar Khan Mohmand, Shoaib Khan and Azmat Ali have submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
Those who submitted nomination papers for provincial assembly seat PK-48 Mardan-1 included Mohammad Farooq Khan of ANP, Hafiz Akhtar Ali MMA, Gul Wali MMA, Jawad Baiazi of PPP, Sikandar Hayat Khan of PML-N, Malak Shokat of PTI and Mohammad Midrar, Naik Mohammad Khattak, Mohammad Khatab Bacha, Taj Maluk, Gul Saed Bacha and Nasurullah has submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
Those who submitted nomination papers for PK-49 Mardan-2 included Shah Roh Aman of ANP, Ibrahim Biland of JI, Arshid Hussain MQM, Tariq Saleem of PML-N, Toufal Anjum of PTI, Khastai widow of PPP leader Abdul Akbar Khan while Zeeshan Khanzada, Adnan Khan, Javeed, Amin Shah, Sakhi Bahadur, Mohammad Jamal Bacha, Zahid Iqbal Khan, Mohammad Faheem Khan, Abdul Manan, Mohammad Zahir, Azam Khan and Laiq Nawaz have submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
For PK-50 Mardan-3 former provincial minister Mohammad Atif Khan of PTI has submitted nomination paper, Taj-ul-Ameen Jabal of JUI-F, Mohammad Ali Shah of JUI, Yousaf Zaman QWP, Khwaja Hoti and Farooq Hoti of PPP, Mohammad Haroon Khan of ANP and Azam Khan, Abdul Samad, Mohammad Zahid, Niaz Ali Khan, Fazl-e-Hanan, Rahat Ali Shah, Malik Ayaz Khan, Waqar Mohammad, Mst Shaheen, Qazi Bashir Ahmed, Sher Malik and Adnan Khan have submitted nomination papers as independent candidates.
For PK-51 Mardan-4 Obaid Khan Mayar of PPP, Himayatullah Mayar ANP, Noor Mohammad PML-N, Bakhtawar Khan of PPP, Shujaul Mulak of JUI-F, Ameer Farzand Khan of PTI, Maulana Israr ul Haq of JUI-F, while Mohammad Ali, Adnan Bacha, Fakhara Alam, Kamran Ali, Imtiaz Bibi, Noor Badshah, Khan Badshah, Abdul Wahid Khan, Haris Khan Toru, Syed Ikramullah Jan, Mohammad Asif Khan, Sajjad Kamal, Abdul Sattar and Zahid Hussain have submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
For PK-52 Mardan-5 Zahir Shah Toru of PTI, Nawabzada Aurangzeb Khan Hoti of PPP, Ali Khan of ANP, Niaz Ali of JUI-F, Nawabzada Arsala Khan Hoti of PML-N, Rehana Bibi of AWP, Mohammad Javeed Khan of PPP while Mohammad Kaleem Shah, Naseer Ahmed, Amant Shah Haqani, Haris Khan Toru, Abdul Sattar, Iqtidar Khan, Mohammad Nasir Khan and Abdul Latif have submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
For PK-53 Mardan-6 provincial president of ANP Ameer Haider Hoti, Umar Farooq Kakakhel of PTI, Ikramullah Shahid former deputy speaker KP assembly of PPP, Niaz Ali of JUI-F, Ahmed Khan of ANP while Mohammad Ismail, Zarghon Shah, Akbar, Mohammad Abdul Salam, Waqar Khan, Niaz Ali Khan, Yousaf Shah, Gul Nawaz, Wilayat Khan, Mohammad Hashim Khan and Shahid Usman Khan have submitted nomination papers as independent candidates.
Those who submitted nomination papers for PK-54 Mardan-7 included Malik Ejaz of PPP, Iftikhar Ali of PTI, Nadir Shah of JI (MMA), Mohammad Fayaz Khan of JUP (MMA), Sher Afghan Khan of ANP while Obaid Khan, Mumtaz Ali Khan, Iftikhar Khan Mohmand, Kiswar Khan, Jalal Khan Khattak, Khawar Khan Mohmand, Zarshad Khan, Shahid Siraj, Nouman Yousaf, Irfan Ali, Musa Khan and Mohmand Ihsan has submitted their nomination papers as independent candidates.
Those who submitted nomination papers for PK-55 Mardan-8 are Nasir Khan of ANP, Shahid Khan of JUI-F (MMA) and Mohammad Saed of (MMA), Jalal-ud-Din of PML-N, former provincial minister Rahim Dad Khan of PPP, Fazl-e-Rabani of JI (MMA), Jamsheed Mohmand of PML-N while Mohammad Ihsanullah, Adul Wahab, Sattar Khan, Arshid Ali, Mohammad Ishaq, Amir Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Raza Khattak, Adil Nawaz, Umar Khan, Akhtar Ali, Sadiq Hussain, Nadeem Mohammad Khan, Ihtisham Ali and Nadeem Khan have submitted their nomination papers as impendent candidates.
The PTI's former provincial minister Mohammad Atif Khan has filed nomination papers for two seats including NA-21 Mardan-2 and PK-50 while former chief minister Ameer Haider Hoti has also submitted nomination paper for NA-21 Mardan-2 and PK-53.
