Partial Eid-ul-Fitr observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as unofficial Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan announced the religious festival. The management of the mosque had stated to have received more than 40 witnesses about the sighting of moon from different parts of the province. According to reports Eid-ul-Fitr was observed in most of the areas of provincial capital Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Bannu, Khyber Agency, Bajaur Agency, Kohat, Nowshera, Sarai Naurang, Dir Lower and parts of district Malakand respectively.
The KP government has decided to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday (June 16) with the federal government as per announcement by Markazi Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The unofficial Ruet-Hilal Committee received 10 witnesses from Peshawar, eight from Mardan, three from Bannu, 10 from Khyber, six from Bajaur and three each witnesses from Swabi, Kohat and Nowshera respectively.
It has a worth to mention here that two members of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Hafiz Hashmat Ali and Professor Abdul Ghafoor also attended the meeting of the unofficial committee with Mufti Shahabuddin in the chair and took unanimous decision of the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday.
