However, in last general elections, he cannot sustain the sway of PTI in the area and succumbed to Sajid Nawaz Khan. For the upcoming general elections the main contest is expected between Asma Alamgir and Noor Alam Khan of PTI. Asma Alamgir had remained as advisor to former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and present PPP women wing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As the constituency is also comprising of the areas, which were included in the constituency of Arbab Mohammad Jehangir Khan, the father-in-law of the PPP candidate. Therefore, she is also expecting votes of the sympathizers and then supporters of political veteran Arbab Mohammad Jehangir Khan.

Two years, back, Tehmash Khan has given tough time to PML-N and PTI candidate in a by-election on the same provincial assembly constituency and had last with a narrow margin.
