Pakistan Awami Tehreek Quaid Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has said if former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khalida Zia can be sent to jail on corruption charges, heavens won't fall if Nawaz Sharif was also jailed on proven corruption cases.
He demanded that a decision of corruption cases against Nawaz Sharif should not be delayed and Sharifs must be summoned in Model Town case too. Addressing senior party leaders here on Wednesday he alleged that Sharif brothers gave the nation gifts of price-hike, loans, loadshedding, devaluation of rupee and corruption during their five year rule.
He said Nawaz Sharif is the real owner of London flats and he had admitted this fact in parliament therefore it was his responsibility to provide money-trail to the court. He alleged that these properties were purchased in the name of off-shore companies and his children. Money-laundering and plunder by Nawaz Sharif is an open secret. His farcical money-trail in the form of Qattari letter has been rejected, now his ultimate abode is jail on account of plundering of national exchequer Qadri said he is looking forward to trial of Sharif brothers and their cahoots in the Model Town incident; killers of our innocent workers are Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif; he hoped Lahore High Court full-bench would summon Nawaz Sharif in Model Town case.
He demanded that the Election Commission and Interim Prime Minister should take notice of use of Governor Houses for political and electoral purpose; participation of governors appointed by the PML-N government in electoral campaign is affecting negatively atmosphere of free and fair elections. He regretted that Tax evaders, persons accused of murder and those under-trial in corruption cases, have been allowed to contest election; it seems that during scrutiny of nomination papers, articles 62/63 were ignored.
He said those raising slogan of "respect the vote" have awarded special seats to their near and dear ones; party workers can launch respect the vote campaign against their political leaders and make them accountable through vote for failure to honor their promises. About Pakistan Awami Tehreek participation in the coming elections, he said that a decision will be taken in the meeting of party candidates.
