23 Jun, 2018

Pakistan Awmi Tehreek (PAT) has formed Pakistan Awami Lawyers Movement (PALM), with senior advocate Lehrasib Gondal as central president and Muhammad Hussain Shad as secretary General.
Addressing the first meeting of office holder of the new organization Chairman PAT Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said patriotic and conscious lawyers must play an effective legal and political role in restoration of true democracy, speedy and inexpensive justice, supremacy of constitution, rule of law, and check shenanigans of bureaucracy as well as of corrupt elite. He said Pakistan Awami Tehreek will speed-up struggle for revolutionary electoral reforms and a secure future of the country with an active assistance of legal fraternity. PAT is the only solid voice of reforms in ongoing corrupt electoral system and our consistent struggle in this regard is on the record.
He said Pakistan was founded by a Lawyer, now lawyers will secure its future. Corrupt elements, who should have been behind the bars, have become leaders at gunpoint and with the use of ill-gotten money. He said the prevailing shabby system has erased distinction between a leader and a bandit; elections without reforms and accountability will produce the same results which we have been witnessing since last many decades.
